Olive Groves Sparta Gourmet proudly applies traditional cultivation methods refined through generations of commitment to excellence. While others use dangerous chemical pesticides and mechanical collection methods, we nurture our olives with care and harvest them by hand to ensure the finest flavor and highest nutritional value possible. Our crops are cold pressed using top standard, state-of-the-art processing, bottled, and stored in our own plant.
Sparta Gourmet is located in the historic city of Sparta in the Laconian region of Southern Greece. From the time of antiquity to the present, the state of Laconia has been renowned for creating the finest olive oil in Greece, and quite possibly, the word. Our Koroneiki trees, Greece’s best variety, are rooted in the rich soil of the Evrotas riverbanks where they thrive in ideal climate conditions and moderate rainfall at a perfect 350 meter elevation.
Our great-grandparents began cultivating olive trees and producing olive oil. As this tradition passed from one generation to next, we learned to love our blessed trees and understand their mystery. Our respect for more than 100 years of tradition arms us with unsurpassed expertise in olive oil production. We use only current-year crops for our oil and guarantee that all our olives are of Laconia origin. Labels on our bottles and metal cans indicate acidity levels, expiration dates, and chemical analysis in accordance with EU and U.S regulations for extra virgin olive oil.
In addition to extra virgin olive oil, we also produce the superbly flavored Kalamon Olives packaged in our family’s traditional recipe of oil, vinegar, and brine.
Our products can be found on the tables and in the kitchens of the 5-star Grande Bretagne Athens, Electra Palace Thessaloniki, and also Restaurant Milos in Athens, and in Greece’s finest island and mainland restaurant owned by internationally acclaimed chefs.
